Red Garage

Holy cow you guys! Ever have one of those weeks where you just think to yourself-how did that even happen?! I (Katelyn) recently accepted a part-time job for American Airlines at the Grand Rapids airport so if I'm not working at the hotels, I'm training for my new job! I'm so incredibly pumped to use some travel perks and see some new places this year. It turns out 24 isn't such a bad year after all ;) Anyways, Laura came over for dinner last week and we snapped some pics while the salmon was baking.

Gathering

Some of my favorite weeknights consist of heading over to Katelyn's house where we make dinner, drink wine, listen to folk music, and play outside. Last week was no exception. When Katelyn sent me a text that read "Dinner at 7?" I was all like "DUH". Plus they always have the best wines to serve with dinner. Needless to say, we snapped these photos while we were about 2 glasses deep.
I also managed to pick out the BEST testing seedless watermelon.
Laura's wearing: Shirt- Marshall's // Tank & Shorts- Forever 21 // Shoes- TOMS
Necklace- Premier Designs // Belt- Old Navy
Katelyn's wearing: Tank- Sparrow // Jeans- Urban Outfitters //
Shoes- Charlotte Russe // Nails- OPI
If you ever think "How do those two girls spend so much time together? Don't they get sick of each other?" The answer is not a chance. Katelyn and I share blood and a special bond. We're similar spirits, old souls, and wild at heart. She validates all of my crazy dreams and life goals and we work together to support each other. We complement one another and strive to be greater. It's nights like this where I am reminded of how lucky I am to have her live so close to me.

The Sunday of Summer

While scrolling through Instagram recently, I saw one of those cutesy little sayings plastered over a pretty and scenic photograph that I typically overlook without question. This one I read, and it stated "August is the Sunday of summer" and I almost lost my mind. I didn't know if it was supposed to be lighthearted and pretty, but it made me feel somewhat depressed. We, in Michigan, barely get a summer as it is due to the lengthy and brutal winters and bitter cold, so let's not rub it in that summer is 'coming to a close', k? It's only the beginning of August. Also, I'd really, REALLY appreciate a nice Indian summer this year.

Katelyn's wearing: Shoes- Minnetonka // Shorts- Forever21 // Skirt- Gap
Button Up- Zara // Hat- Store near Tiger's Stadium
Laura's wearing: Top- Marshall's // Shorts- H&M // Shoes- Hautelook
Necklace & Headband- World Market // Bracelets- Forever21
Is everyone else ready for fall or still loving on this summertime? Don't get us wrong, we love fall, but it would be just fine if summer lingered for awhile longer!

I've seen a lot of reviews, posts, comments, and photos floating around lately about Jamberry Nails products. Since I've become an independent consultant with Jamberry Nails, I've grown to completely love the product and I have been sharing my passion for these nail wraps for the last couple of months.

Florida Trip Pt. 2: Sanibel & Captiva Island

The second half off my Florida trip with Tieka was spent on Sanibel Island and Captiva Island.  Again, the weather was absolutely perfect. We started our day by cruising through Captiva Island and enjoying the scenery and gorgeous homes. When we arrived to Captiva, we grabbed a bite to eat and some cocktails at The Mucky Duck with a gorgeous view of the beach.
Our Sunday excursion was a dolphin cruise aboard the Lady Chadwick. They had a stocked bar on the ship, so Tieka and I sat on the deck while with daiquiris in hand while watching dolphins jumping behind the boat. It was breathtaking.

After docking the ship, we headed off to dinner at The Bubble Room (which happened to be right next door to the marina). We'd heard so many great reviews about the restaurant and were told we HAD to have dessert there. We were sold immediately.
Our trip ended with one last dip in the pool while reflected on the most incredible weekend get-away ever. Thank you so much to Ft. Myers and Sanibel for the fantastic experiences that will never be forgotten. It was JUST what I needed.
