Goodbye 2014!

What a crazy year 2014 has been. It had a slow and bumpy start with a very intense and snowy winter, but once it picked up momentum it flew by in a flash. I still can't believe 2015 starts tomorrow. It's okay though, we're ready for it. Ready for a fresh beginning again.
Here are some of our favorite memories, outfits, recipes and special moments of 2014:

JANUARY:
Katelyn and her husband traveled to Colorado to kick off the new year. They visited coffee shops, breweries, boutiques, restaurants, and the Garden of the Gods.
Laura showcased some of her favorite pieces from Sparrow Boutique and hosted a giveaway.
Katelyn, her mom, and her mother-in-law traveled to Mexico for a last-minute mission trip.

FEBRUARY:
Laura baked a ton in February. Mostly Valentine-related treats.
Getting outfit photos were a chore in February because we had record-low temperatures and there was ice on everything.

MARCH:
The snow finally melted away for a couple weeks and the sun even peeked out a few times. We spent most of our early mornings meeting up at downtown coffee shops and trying to enjoy some solitude.
Katelyn flew to NYC for two days for a Sowhope meeting.
Laura finally visited the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. Check that right off the ol' bucket list.

APRIL:
Katelyn vacationed in Florida with her husband and family.

Laura spent her birthday in Nashville with Steve and their two best friends, Tieka and Eric.
The temperatures finally started to creep up in West Michigan, so we celebrated with ice cream at lunchtime.

MAY:
May was filled with an enormous amount of lattés. We consumed approximately 1200 ounces of coffee in 30 days. Most cups were consumed at Lantern Coffee, Madcap, and Rowster
We transitioned from spring jackets to short sleeves and shorts, finally!
Laura attended the Sparrow fashion show at Eve in downtown Grand Rapids.
Laura had her first bridal shower, hosted by her mother-in-law in Canada.

JUNE:
We were thrilled to welcome June. It's one of our favorite months here in Michigan.
Laura attended an event at The Limited in the Woodland Mall where all invitees took advantage of a 50% discount on everything. Amazing!

We took A LOT more outfit photos with the start of summer.
Laura visited Traverse City for a work trip to write articles for Traverse City Tourism and she got to enjoy the beautiful views at Sleeping Bear Dunes.

JULY:
Laura went cherry picking with Steve and her dog at Rasch Farms.
Then we made cherry popsicles on a hot & humid July afternoon.
Laura had her 2nd bridal party.
And then Laura had her 3rd and final bridal shower.
Laura traveled to Ft. Myers and Sanibel Island with Tieka. They went fishing in the Estero Bay, swimming in the gulf, and went for a dolphin cruise around the islands.

AUGUST:
Laura hosted her first wine club event at her house. It was one of her favorite nights of the year because all of her girlfriends in both Grand Rapids and Muskegon came together for a fun night of pinot noir and snacks.
We spent several evenings in August cooking dinner for one another and taking turns hosting.

SEPTEMBER:

We featured some of our favorite retro swimsuits from Vedette Shapewear.
Laura had her bachelorette party in Baroda, MI (aka southwest Michigan's wine country).
We featured our favorite swimsuits from Lime Ricki while relaxing in a Baroda hot tub.
Laura and Steve were married on September 20th!
And then they were off to spend their honeymoon in this cabin in the Smoky Mountains.

OCTOBER:
We both attended the Wolverine Fashion's Night Out event that was held at Grand Rapids Brewing Co. There were so many more attendees this year!
Laura flew to Nashville for a quick 48 trip to meet up with Steve as he was down there for some gigs and co-writing.
Katelyn and Alex traveled to Denver for 24 hours to visit a friend and pack as much excitement into one full day as humanly possible.

NOVEMBER:
We kicked off November with a cousin trip to Traverse City for tours at Right Brain Brewery and Grand Traverse Distillery. A lot of drinking happened.
The leaves all fell in November and that cool, crisp Michigan air started to blow through.

DECEMBER:
Katelyn baked some delicious frosted pumpkin cookies in the spirit of the holidays.
We showcased some of our favorite pieces from the brand new Sparrow boutique shop in Muskegon.
Laura and Kristin from Everythings Always Sunny attended the Sparrow Boutique grand opening.

And tonight we celebrate 2015! With that, we bid you adieu, 2014. SAYONARA!
