Traverse City

Last Friday I headed to Traverse City for both work and leisure. After a meeting with a client and scoping out the The Village at Traverse City Commons, I spent the rest of the evening with Steven.
We grabbed some delicious tacos and tamales at this adorable little authentic restaurant called Spanglish, which was honestly some of the best food I've ever had. That meal was followed up by some jaw-droppingly good chocolate dripped frozen cheesecake on a stick from the Underground Cheesecake Company. Mind: blown.
We drove around through the vineyards, went mini golfing, watched the sunset over the lake, and relaxed. It was cold, windy, and rainy but I managed to have such an awesome time regardless.

Saturday morning we headed over to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. In 2011 this park was named the "Most Beautiful Place in America". Pretty awesome, right? It was Steven's first time there so it was really exciting to see his reaction to all of the breathtaking stops on the scenic trail.

Since we were already in Glen Arbor, we made a quick pit stop at Cherry Republic before hitting the road. It's another favorite place of mine where everything in their shops are made from cherries. Cherry wine, cherry salsa, cherry chocolate, cherry soda, etc. The best.

It was an awesome trip and a nice break from reality for a minute. Traverse City is such a beautiful place to be during this time of year. I already can't wait to go back.

xoxo,
Laura

    1. Thanks! Cherry Republic is easily one of my favorite places to visit while in northern Michigan. It's just so sweet and happy there all the time. :)

  2. Love the photos, Laura! You took me back to Traverse City exactly 1 year ago when Jason and I took my mom for a quick getaway trip while she was in Lansing. You look so so gorgeous - and so happy! Glad that Steve could join you! :)

    1. Thanks, Alison! Did your mom fall in love with TC? I fall in love with it again every time I go. Hoping to make another trip in October after all of the wedding stuff is out of the way and I can enjoy some color tours and wine tasting. :)

  3. Are your pictures from the Dunes Trail (heading west) or the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail (north to Glen Haven)?

    1. You're totally right, we ARE kindred spirits. Nothing beats my love for Nashville and I already am counting down the days until I'm back in that glorious city.
Hopefully one day we'll both be there at the same time!
(..and that's bound to happen if I'm living there soon ;] )
