Grocery shopping: it's a necessary evil. I've never been a huge fan of writing grocery lists, strolling up and down the aisles finding what I need, waiting in check-out lines, and draining my checking account in order to feed myself for a week. Thinking about it alone will typically give me a bit of anxiety. But when I take a step back and look at the big picture, I find that I'm more cost-effective, I eat healthier, and become a better meal planner when I purchase groceries. It pays off every single time.

When it comes to shopping for anything, I am a bargain girl. I love a good deal, especially when it comes with perks. For me, the best perks are the one that I know I can absolutely take advantage of. Like free gasoline. Who wouldn't love that?
When Steve and I are down in Nashville, there's no other place we get our groceries than Kroger. They have a rewards card program that we take advantage of and usually save a bundle on, even if we're just there to get the essentials. What's even better? They now partner with Shell to save you on gas as well.
How does it work? By using your Kroger Plus Card to earn points every time you shop at Kroger!
Don’t have one? Just go to Kroger and fill out a simple application.
It’s FREE and EASY.
Points earned in the current month are available for use through the end
of the next month. For example, if you earn 300 points in a month, you
save 10¢ per gallon on your next three visits, redeemable through the
end of the following month. For more details, visit your local Kroger
store or visit www.kroger.com/fuel .
This is the best news ever for avid travelers like Steve and I. Since we spend most of our time driving back and forth from Michigan to Tennessee, we spend a lot of money on gas. Since we already do our shopping at Kroger, now we're benefiting from the cheaper gas, too!
