Wolverine FNO

The 2014 Wolverine Fashion's Night Out event was a few weeks ago. This year it was hosted at Grand Rapids Brewing Co. with co-hosts Tieka of Selective Potential (who hosted last year) along with social influencer Ryan Slusarzyk.  Since this year consisted of both men and women, the room was packed wal-to-wall full of bloggers, fashion enthusiasts, flashing cameras, plethora of delicious appetizers, and craft beer. You just can't beat that. Well, yes you can. With free Wolverine boots, which we also were given. Perfect evening.
Unfortunately Katelyn and I were so preoccupied with catching up with old friends that neither of us took many photos. Most of the photos you see are from Kaitlyn of Artisan Happiness, Melissa of The Bees Knees, and Tieka of Selective Potential.
The rest of the crappy quality photos are taken from my iPhone.

It's safe to say my Wolverine shoe collection is growing. :) Thanks so much for having us again, Wolverine!

The Limited: Exclusive Shopping Event

Last night I attended an exclusive shopping party at The Limited hosted by my friend Kaitlyn of Artisan Happiness. Because she's such an avid Limited shopper, it just made sense to have an event there. We got some incredible discounts and they had such fun summery prints and designs. I, of course, found another dress that would be perfect for all of the bridal events coming up. Bought it. When in Rome, right?
Picked up these beautiful sunnies the moment I laid eyes on them.

Thank you to Kaitlyn and The Limited for putting on such a fabulous event! I'm so happy with all of the goodies I brought home.

Sparrow Fashion Show

Saturday night I attended the Sparrow fashion show & pop-up shop with my friend Kaitlyn (not to be confused with Katelyn).  She stopped over at my place and we headed out to Eve at the B.O.B. downtown.  If you recall, I showed some of my favorite Sparrow pieces in a January post here. They have fun, unique, bold and bright pieces that I'm sure you'll all love.
Some photos by Kaitlyn of Artisan Happiness
The show was fabulous and well-executed.  I personally loved all of the work-inspired with a little bit of edginess pieces that were featured toward the beginning.  The girls all rocked it and it was a blast.
After enjoying a couple glasses of wine, Kaitlyn snapped some outdoor photos on the blue bridge, where I seemed to blend right in with the background.

Thanks Sparrow for putting on such a great event.  I had a lovely time and look forward to more pop-up shops around town!

The Green Door

Late last week, Katelyn and I met up for another lunchtime stroll through downtown. We made a quick stop at Madcap for afternoon lattes before veering away from the ArtPrize crowds and plethora of baby strollers (cringe). As much as I love ArtPrize and the attention that gets brought to the city, I am getting tired of being stuck in the middle of it at work. Although, it does make the best people watching.

Katelyn's Wearing: Scarf- Gifted // Sweater & Tights- Target //
Dress- H&M // Boots- Aldo

Laura's Wearing: Top- Guess // Skirt- Marshalls // Necklace- Groopdealz //
Wedges- Deena & Ozzy from Urban Outfitters

Aside from my usual work routine, things still seem a bit unreal for me. I keep looking down at my hand to see that engagement ring on my finger and my heart just skips. I always thought about when this moment would come in my life, but it all is just so surreal. I feel like I've been floating on cloud nine.
I can't believe how cheesy I sound right now.

Here are a few things on my wish list for these upcoming months.

Wilcox Park

Katelyn and I had another lunch meetup today. We went to my FAVORITE soup shop in Grand Rapids, Uncle Cheetah's. It was Katelyn's first time, and I'm pretty sure she shared in my joy of their phenomenal soups. It was love at first taste.
We took our orders to go and headed to a nearby park for a little picnic. The weather was grey and gloomy, but there's something beautiful about a calm and cloudy day. Wilcox Park ended up being our own hidden treasure. It was so desolate and there were so many old tangled trees surrounded by greenery.
