Wolverine FNO

The 2014 Wolverine Fashion's Night Out event was a few weeks ago. This year it was hosted at Grand Rapids Brewing Co. with co-hosts Tieka of Selective Potential (who hosted last year) along with social influencer Ryan Slusarzyk.  Since this year consisted of both men and women, the room was packed wal-to-wall full of bloggers, fashion enthusiasts, flashing cameras, plethora of delicious appetizers, and craft beer. You just can't beat that. Well, yes you can. With free Wolverine boots, which we also were given. Perfect evening. 

Unfortunately Katelyn and I were so preoccupied with catching up with old friends that neither of us took many photos. Most of the photos you see are from Kaitlyn of Artisan Happiness, Melissa of The Bees Knees, and Tieka of Selective Potential.

It's safe to say my Wolverine shoe collection is growing. :) Thanks so much for having us again, Wolverine!

Sparrow Fashion Show

Saturday night I attended the Sparrow fashion show & pop-up shop with my friend Kaitlyn (not to be confused with Katelyn).  She stopped over at my place and we headed out to Eve at the B.O.B. downtown.  If you recall, I showed some of my favorite Sparrow pieces in a January post here. They have fun, unique, bold and bright pieces that I'm sure you'll all love.

The show was fabulous and well-executed.  I personally loved all of the work-inspired with a little bit of edginess pieces that were featured toward the beginning.  The girls all rocked it and it was a blast.
After enjoying a couple glasses of wine, Kaitlyn snapped some outdoor photos on the blue bridge, where I seemed to blend right in with the background.

Last night Katelyn and I attended the Grand Rapids Social Charity Club event at the Grand Woods Lounge, benefiting Ele's Place of Grand Rapids. I still can't get over how great it is to be living in the city again and being able to attend after-work events. There is just so much to love about Grand Rapids.

While at the Grand Woods Lounge, we ordered my all-time favorite appetizers: the southwestern spring rolls and the calamari. I could eat these for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. SO delicious. Katelyn was impressed, too.

Crappy, cold weather aside, I hope you all have a great weekend! Steven and I will be working on more wedding plans and putting some finishing touches on high-priority needs. It'll be a relief when we get this stuff out of the way.

Downtown Perks

In our attempt to visit as many local breakfast joints, delis, boutiques and coffee shops as possible in our city, we've been meeting up in the early hours to grab our caffeine fix before heading off to work. It's been a complete blessing to both be working downtown where we are only walking distance away from one another. This morning we met up at Lantern Coffee Bar and Lounge.

We cannot get enough of this 70+ degree Michigan weather today.  Even though it's supposed to rain on and off all week, we're hopeful that the temperatures stay high.  It's so nice to hear the city sounds and street performers, smell the aromas of street vendors, and see people sitting in the grass of Rosa Parks Circle eating their lunches and soaking up the sun.  It's perfect.
