Laura's Month of October via Instagram

Since we basically skipped over the months of September and October on the blog due to our busy schedules, I thought it was time to get back on track with my brief monthly updates.
So here is my October through Instagram.

 1. We celebrated Kristin's baby shower for her little girl on the way! (Kristin is my cousin and Katelyn's big sister)
2. October always gets me craving those southern comfort foods, so I made some homemade chicken pot pies.
3. Katelyn and I attended the Wolverine FNO event at GRBC hosted by Tieka and Ryan.
4. We finally had a coffee date for the first time in months. It's so rare that our schedules allow us to meet up anymore.
5. I visited Chicago with my friend Stephanie to attend a concert. I'm all about the fringe boots and JD.
6. Steve and I went to Lewis Farm Market to partake in some festive activities with my parents. I love that place.
7. I bought a mandolin. How nerdy, right? I love playing that little guy.
8. I flew down to Nashville for a quick 48 hour trip to meet up with my husband who was down there for the week.
9. We received our wedding photos back from Trisha Marie Photography and they came in this cute package!

WHOA, November, you're up next! Let's see what you've got.

Katelyn's Month of March via Instagram

Only a few more days and I'll be in sunny Florida enjoying a relaxing family vacation! March was colder than I ever remember, but at least it's finally warming up here in the mitten. Here's a re-cap:

-Alex and I went to BackForty to watch Steve Rivers play live
-A little #tbt of my time in Spain with wine and a gorgeous sunset
-I got to wear my wedding dress again for an event that my Spa did
-Who can say no to a pitcher of margarita?
-Driving through downtown during my New York Trip
-I decided to buy some flowers for our home to celebrate spring
-I celebrated Oberon Day at The Station with one of my bests
-Visiting the UN was one of the coolest things I've ever done
-I took some photos for a work friend who is expecting this coming October. Congrats again Breen!

Have a great Tuesday everyone!
xoxo, Katelyn

Laura's Month of February via Instagram

If you all are wondering where we went.. we're still here, just busier than ever. We miss you and we miss blogging! The fact of the matter is: we're freezing, we're stressed, and we're exhausted. It's been a rough winter and I'm so glad to see the chilly months of this season pass by. SEE YA LATER, FEBRUARY!

Ok, it hasn't been a terrible month, I'm just ready for a fresh, new season. February had some great highlights.

 1. We had some friends over for a super bowl party and I made some themed goodies.
2.  I ordered my new favorite mug from Sweaty Wisdom and use it every day.
3. I made tons of Valentine's Day treats during the entire month.
4. Steve and I celebrated Valentine's Day in Detroit and drank champagne out of hotel cups.
5. He also gave me these beautiful roses. :)
6. We went to the George Strait concert and I loved seeing Steve smile ear to ear for the entire show.
7. We registered for our wedding! I've been dreaming of this day since I was a little girl. ;]
8. I picked up my wedding dress! (not pictured) And I also tried on some reception/shower dresses.
9. I traveled over to Lansing for a work meeting. I love the look of the capital building against the blue skies.

See ya'll soon.

Laura's Month of January via Instagram

I know, I've been officially off the map for three weeks. My excuse: winter. I have to admit that I absolutely despise the month of January. Some parts were great, including getting a handle on my fitness goals, eating better, and other related NYE resolution-type issues. However, as far as getting out and taking photos and being social, I completely failed. I cannot express how ready I am for spring to come. I need a new season, I need these horrible west Michigan blizzards to stop, and I need to get out of my house.

So, there you have it. I hate winter. And I live in Michigan. This is all my own fault.
All of this hibernating has led me to being productive in other ways. I can actually say that I'm on track with my diet and exercise habits right now, which feels great.

Here's my recap of last month:

1. Kicked off the month by setting my goals at the gym.
2. Steve and his band opened for Josh Thompson at the Intersection. I enjoyed the show from his merch table.
3. Purchased some much needed new shoes for running. Love them.
4. Went to the Detroit Red Wings vs. LA Kings game with our great friends and had FRONT ROW SEATS. Best night.
5. Worked on some wedding centerpieces with my sister/moh.
6. Met up with a best friend for bloody mary's and brunch in an attempt to regain my social life.
7. Modeled some items from Sparrow and hosted a giveaway. Check out their products!
8. Pushed myself to get better at running despite my asthma. I'm getting better!
9. A new, healthy restaurant opened in downtown GR across from my office and I love it!

I hope you are all doing well. I'm hoping to see more of you now that January is over and spring is right around the corner [hopefully].

Laura

Laura's Month of December via Instagram

This past month has been incredible. I feel like December is the perfect time for reflecting on the past year and just soaking it all in. I didn't want this month to just fly by like all months prior, so I did what I could to absorb all of the holiday cheer that I could. It really will be a month to remember.

1. Steve and Kari played another acoustic night together at the Log Cabin.
2. I worked from the Muskegon hub for the first time and visited a new wine bar in town called Smash.
3. I attended my sales team's annual Christmas party at a coworkers house and picked up some brews on the way.
4. I baked and decorated tons of Christmas cookies for holiday parties.
5. I passed my Google AdWords exam for work in under 12 minutes! And I received my sticker. :)
6. I gave Steve an early Christmas present. Tickets to George Strait's Farewell tour!
7. My mom bought me this adorable Christmas ornament for our tree. 2013: Engaged.
8. We booked our honeymoon in the Smoky Mountains! How cute is this cabin we're staying in?
9. I started filming interviews for Black History Month, which will be shown on mlive.com in February, and what an incredible opportunity it has been.

December will go down in the books for being a month full of new journeys. I cannot wait to see what 2014 has in store for me, my soon-to-be husband, the blog, work opportunities, and more!

Until next time. ;]

Laura's Month of October via Instagram

HELLO, November!! I can't believe you're already here, but I will do my best to embrace it. This must mean Christmas is right around to corner....

The month of October was jam packed full of fun things. It was mainly full of wedding planning and sharing ideas for DIY projects to come. It felt awesome to get so many big and important things out of the way off the bat, so that I can focus on getting my man to the U.S. :)

1. During ArtPrize, there were several food trucks that lined the streets of Grand Rapids. Steve and I indulged in some gourmet tacos.
2.  I asked my god-daughter, Avery, to be our flower girl in the wedding. She is the daughter of one of my very best friends, Whitney.
3. The leaves started to change and fall at the beginning of October, and everything started to look magical.
4. I SAID 'YES' TO THE DRESS!
5. I made a lot of pumpkin baked goods. These were the mini pumpkin pies I shared here.
6. We took a road trip to Minnesota for the Texaco Country Showdown. After the competition, we stayed out too late at the bar and made friends with the other musicians.
7. I saw Minus the Bear in concert. Again.
8. I created boxes of goodies to propose to my bridesmaids. All 8 accepted! :)
9.  Syrus was Batman for Halloween. All the kids that came by for trick-or-treating loved his costume.

So there you have it. October in a nutshell.
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, and even better month of November.

xoxo,
Laura

Laura's Month of September via Instagram

They say time flies when you're having fun, and September was more than enjoyable. I have so many reasons to be excited right now. Here's a look at my past month:

1. I had my first Five Guys experienced after one opened in Grandville. Truly American.
2. I caught my first fish in the lake behind my apartment. I named him Vince Bluegill. Yes, I threw him back.
3. This Minus the Bear album dropped, and I'm in love.
4. Steven came home with these flowers for me when I had a bad day at work. It turned my whole day around.
5. I baked my first apple pie of the Autumn season.
6. The weather has been abnormally warm for September, which is perfect for ArtPrize season. I love GR.
7. Tieka and Wolverine hosted an event for Fashion's Night Out at the Reserve GR. It was great to meet so many MI bloggers!
8. I GOT ENGAGED, YA'LL!
9. The new downtown market opened in the heart of the city and it's AWESOME!

Have a great week.

xoxo,
Laura
