Diamond Shape Style Challenge

Let's talk diamonds.

Since Katelyn and I both vary in style and taste, we love comparing and contrasting our visions when it comes to anything fashion related. For example- our engagement rings. Both of our men (Alex and Steve) know our style pretty well, and were spot on when it came to picking out our perfect rings. The only real requirement I had for my someday engagement ring was that it had to be conflict free! Here's a little more about our favorite diamond shape styles:

 Laura's favorite:
Cushion Cut
First, let me say that I do not limit myself to this one style/cut of diamonds. My taste is mostly modern, with a touch of vintage character. Therefore, I love cushion cut and any rings with a halo. Check out my board to get a better glimpse at my style choices.

Platinum Felicity Diamond Ring

Katelyn's favorite:
Round Cut To be honest, I didn't even really know what kind of diamond cut I preferred (gasp) until my husband picked it out for me! I love diamonds that are timeless and classic--think Breakfast at Tiffany's. Here's my style board to showcase a perfect ensemble to accentuate this beautiful ring.

Vacation State of Mind

Good morning from the sunny state of Florida.

Nothing's better than a vacation where you don't have to do anything but relax. We're so use to a culture where we're career driven that it's nice to take it slow & recharge. One of the most important things I learned while studying in Spain for the year: You should work to live and not live to work.

Have a great Monday everyone!

Dawn of Spring

Well, we had a nice two-day preview of spring here in west Michigan. A whopping 48 hours of temps above 40 and sunshine. REAL sunshine. Unfortunately, as I type this, we have freezing rain and hail. The ongoing joke of Michigan being the one state where you can experience all four seasons in the same week is proving itself to be true. We've had snow, sunshine and heat ("heat"), ice, rain, and more. We still continue to have lifted spirits, though. Hearing birds chirping first thing in the morning is something to be lively about. So yesterday we arose with the birds and met downtown again. Although it could have been warmer, it was still an improvement from last week's weather.

And as Katelyn and I have previously posted, I just took a new job. I'm still with the same company that I've been working for the past two years, I just moved over to content marketing, where I will be writing sponsored articles, blogs, and white papers for our advertisers. Yes, I'll be doing what I absolutely love doing- and getting paid to do it. Someone pinch me.

Katelyn is taking off to Florida for the next week and I will be busy transitioning into my new role at work. We sincerely hope you all have just as awesome of a week as we've had so far.

April Fools

It was definitely April Fools the day we took these photos because the weather was clearly joking with us. I'm beginning to really think that Spring is never going to come and we're going to skip right past all the warm weather. On a lighter note, Laura took a new job within her same company and I'm so excited and proud of her! I've been so fortunate to have strong and hard-working women in my life and family and she's no exception. I can't wait for her to move back to Grand Rapids so I can get more cousin time with her.
Laura's Wearing: Rain Coat- Bebe // Blazer- Kohl's // Peplum Top- Forever21 // Jeans- H&M
Flats- Target // Necklace- Charlotte Russe // Bracelets- LOFT
As you can tell, Laura and I have decided to wear the spring pastels even if the weather is telling us otherwise.
Katelyn's wearing: Coat- Modcloth//Shoes- thrifted//Shorts- Delia*s//Tights- Target

Anyone pull any great April Fool's pranks?

Katelyn's Month of March via Instagram

Only a few more days and I'll be in sunny Florida enjoying a relaxing family vacation! March was colder than I ever remember, but at least it's finally warming up here in the mitten. Here's a re-cap:

-Alex and I went to BackForty to watch Steve Rivers play live
-A little #tbt of my time in Spain with wine and a gorgeous sunset
-I got to wear my wedding dress again for an event that my Spa did
-Who can say no to a pitcher of margarita?
-Driving through downtown during my New York Trip
-I decided to buy some flowers for our home to celebrate spring
-I celebrated Oberon Day at The Station with one of my bests
-Visiting the UN was one of the coolest things I've ever done
-I took some photos for a work friend who is expecting this coming October. Congrats again Breen!

Have a great Tuesday everyone!
